Two senior cats left outside in the heat in a carrier!

UPDATE

AUGUST 19, 2016 - ALL FUNDS NEEDED HAVE BEEN RAISED!!

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DONATED AND SHARED PUMPKIN AND MUFFIN'S STORY.

On Monday (8/15) we took them to the vet. Muffin's mouth was full of infected ulcers while Pumpkiin was diganosed with osteomyletis of the jaw (bone infection) and an infected, ingrown toenail on one of his big, beautiful polydactyl paws.

The vet removed all of their teeth and removed the ingrown toenail. They are estimated to be at least 12 years old. In addition, they are anemic and underweight.

Just one day after surgery we saw a difference in them. Pumpkin's jaw is less swollen and Muffin is more alert and interested in her surroundings. Pumpkin explored our Center last night hobbling on his wrapped leg and finally settled in a comfy bed where he feel fast asleep.

We at Forgotten Friends are not giving up on these two unlike their owners did. They have golden years ahead of them and a new lease on life.

********
Pumpkin and Muffin, two senior cats 9 and 10 years old were left in front of a pizzeria at East Village Green in Levittown in this heatwave where the outside temperature was over 100 degrees! They were in a large carrier with a note taped to the top. Forgotten Friends took them in and they are now safe, fed and cool in our center. They are friendly but, understandably, scared. We will take good care of them and do everything we can to get them good homes. Please help us to help them.
To donate, please click on "DONATE" in the upper left corner  and indicate "Pumpkin and Muffin" in the donation field. OR mail checks to: Forgotten Friends of Long Island, P.O. Box 710, Plainview, NY 11803 (remember to write "Pumpkin and Muffin" in the check's memo)
As always, we greatly appreciate your continued support!
