Dogs

Lena is an 18 month old pit mix. We are unsure of her past as she has some war wounds but she is a very loving dog. She loves nothing more than to snuggle on your lap or stay outside and have the ball thrown over and over again. She always aims to please and is very obedient. She knows all her commands and walks amazing on the lead. If you're looking for a dog that is excellent with children and other dogs then she is an ideal fit. She is young enough that you can enjoy the remaining puppy years and grow old with her by your side. Our trainer has informed us that Lena would make a GREAT therapy dog!

Lenny - a 7 1/2 month old Pit/hound mix, neutered. This little guy is a charmer even though he's been through so much! He was rescued with severe demodex and has completed his treatment. He will more than likely stay on the smaller side. He has a great and lively personality and we look forward to see him blossom into a handsome, healthy pup!

Honey...her Sugarbabies have all been adopted!!

What more can be said about this precious face? Honey and her babies were rescued from a high-kill shelter in Georgia. Both mom and babies were severely malnourished and Honey was heart-worm positive. Her babies have since been adopted. Comet- 9 month old hound/terrier mix, recovering from treatment for a severe case of demodectic mange. He is a cutie with a capital C! We rescued Comet at 6 months old, his skin was very bad. He has a great personality and will be someones best friend. He is wonderful with other dogs, children and people.

Pumpkin our 10 month old pit is now ready for adoption. She is a complete sweetheart and we are now looking to place her as all her puppies have now been adopted. She has a great temperament and will make the perfect dog.

Jackie, a 5 year old Bull Terrier mix, was rescued after spending five long months in the local shelter, with a severe skin condition. After many vet visits and tests, it was discovered that Jackie had a SEVERE allergy to grain. She has since been put on a no-grain, all raw meat diet, and guess what? Jackie's recovery has been REMARKABLE!

A special person, by the name of Joe Armellino (Armellino's Raw Food for Pets in Huntington), has kindly agreed to sponsor Jackie for the rest of her life with all the raw food she will need. It is important for Jackie's forever family to understand her special needs. She still requires a bath on a weekly to bi-weekly basis and will be required to keep her on the all-raw diet. Her skin is no longer raw, irritated and missing fur. She has blossomed into a white, velvety, beautiful girl, who wants nothing more than to please a family and be loved in return. Jackie would do best in a home with no cats or large dogs. Once introduced properly, she does well with small dogs. Jackie also adores people and older children.

He is an 8 year old Fox Terrier mix who is extremely affectionate and determined to stay by your side forever! He may be getting up in his years, but this sweet soul is still very active and loves to run around with his foster brothers. He was shaking uncontrollably when our dog coordinator first saw him in the shelter. Imagine how hard it is for a senior dog to wake up one day in a strange place without the family that he lived with for 8 years?

Pam is a 1-2 year old Bull Terrier mix who, in partnership with LAP, we were able to to treat her advanced case of mange and place her in a warm and loving foster home. She is a super-friendly dog who loves people and other dogs. Won't you give her a chance to brighten up your life?

Ace- 5 month old Shep Mix

UPDATE: Ace has been released from the hospital and is resting comfortably in his foster home. Once he is given medical clearance he will be available for adoption. Please feel free to contact Milena or Rosanna if you are interested in this handsome fella!
Admitted to the hospital with an infection. He had 105 fever and is severely malnourished. He is currently receiving IV fluids, but is still in a critical state. He will be staying in the hospital until he is stable and cleared for a foster home.

Boomer - 5-7 year old Chihuahua mix-ADOPTED!!

UPDATE: Boomer has been released from the hospital. He has come such a long way, and has shown us all what a trooper he is! He is now in a foster home where he is awaiting medical clearance to be put up for adoption. If you'd like to meet Boomer, please contact Milena or Rosanna.
Boomer was also found in a very critical state. Emaciated, barely walking, swollen legs and possible trauma to his head. He is a sweetheart who is also in the hospital receiving IV fluids, vitamin supplements and some major TLC. He will remain in the hospital until the vet feels he is strong enough to transfer to a foster home.
