We named him DODGE because he had  “dodged the bullet”.  He was found tied to a fence and taken to the TOH where he was isolated from human touch.  For some unknown reasons, the shelter workers would not let this sweet soul be seen by the public and hid him in a back room.  He languished for 2 long months, scared and sad.  We rescued him on Saturday, March 12, 2011 and immediately took him to his foster home where Dodge now happily resides….with kids and dogs and a little kitty.  He’s healthy, smart, playful and the cutest little dodger ever!!!

Hello world!!!  My name is Fanny and I’m a small 8 month old Border Collie/Shep mix.  I was born with two serious congenital deformities:  lateral luxated patellas (in which my 2 knee caps were not in the right place) AND femoral volgus (in which the femur or thigh bone is curved outwards giving the appearance of bowed legs).  Luckily for me, Forgotten Friends came to my rescue and provided the two surgeries necessary to correct my awkward and painful walk.  Parts of my bones were removed and my knee caps repositioned.  I’m now in physical therapy and recovering day by day.  My prognosis is for a long, happy and playful life.  My hope is to find a lively and active family to share my days and doggie dreams.

Tom- I was on the euthanasia list for the horrific wounds I was found to have when the ACC picked me up as a stray.  The damage was extremely severe and in order for me to live a "normal," happy life, the veterinary specialist felt the best course of action would be to amputate my leg.  I've adjusted very well and I have a truly amazing temperament.  I'm completely healed and will now live and function as any cat can.  I'm "the best cat ever."

Christian: I was born on  September 8, 2010.  I was given away in a flea market to a teenager whos parents did not want me in the house. I was kept in a box without food or water until I was rescued and placed in my foster home. I am very loving, sweet and  outgoing. This lovely lady is "Cirie". Cirie & Her 8 babies were all sentenced to die in a very high kill shelter in Georgia. We had them transported up North and placed into a loving foster home. Sadly one puppy passed away. Cirie was a wonderful mother despite her condition. She arrived a bag of bones yet managed to continue to nurse her babies. She is a loving beautiful soul who deserves a home of her own. We hope that she is adopted as quickly as her babies were. She is heart worm positive and will undergo heart worm treatment. These two female siblings definitely have something exotic going on...maybe Javanese mix.  They definitely have a lot of the Javanese breed traits as well as some features - notably fond of play, jumping and human contact.  You'll know when these two kittens are in the room.
